The leading French multinational in data centers, part of the AXA insurance group through Axa Investment Managers Real Assets, operates an advanced data center located in the Madrid municipality of Alcobendas.
In this regard, the leader in high-security infrastructure data centers has utilized various services from the BMS Solutions (Building Management Systems) area, provided by Edison Next, for its first data center in Spain.
The center, which will be located in the Alcobendas industrial estate with a large open-plan area to house all its infrastructure, has already completed the first phase of its construction. These facilities span 15,000 square meters and have 20 MW of energy capacity.
At this point, Edison Next has already carried out the control of over 400 points of the mechanical installations, using the Ecostruxure by Schneider Electric solution, which includes the main systems of the data center.
Thus, the building's BMS system integrates the control of chilled water production and distribution, technical ventilation, humidification, and room pressure. It also includes energy metering and ATS technical alarms. Following the execution of phases 2 and 3 of the various services from the BMS solutions area, Edison Next has started phase 4, adding a total of 1,200 control points.
The company specializes in hosting and sharing data, as well as offering its services to cloud providers, digital service firms, and medium to large-sized companies. It currently operates 15 data centers in France, Italy, and Luxembourg.
Therefore, this high-security data center in Spain represents a major commitment to Spain as a strategic international hub in the interconnection environment.
