The Sant Josep de Sa Talaia Town Council has awarded the public lighting improvement services of this Ibiza municipality to Edison Next for a period of 15 years.

This public contract represents a significant advance in the sustainability of the municipality's public lighting, as it entails a substantial improvement in the protection of the night environment against light pollution.

Indeed, with this project, the energy company is responsible for replacing the municipality's luminaires with LEDs, which, according to the prior audit, had an installed power of 558,121.20W. After carrying out the necessary works, the installed power has been reduced to 220,862.00W, resulting in an energy saving of 60.47%.

In addition, the control panels have been replaced to implement a remote management system, which allows for a reduction in energy consumption in most of the municipality's lighting points.

With the implementation of the measures proposed by Edison Next Spain, an energy saving of more than 1,536,164 KWH will be achieved, representing a 67.56% reduction in the electricity consumption of the outdoor public lighting service and a decrease of more than 472 tons of CO2 per year.

The company, in addition to handling the renovation and replacement of lighting elements, will also be in charge of the scheduled and planned maintenance of the facilities.

A true commitment to sustainable lighting in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia that will lead to a reduction in the carbon footprint of the lighting service, a goal that all cities should aspire to in order to face a green future.
