Molins del Rei trusts Edison Next to achieve energy savings of over 61% in its lighting systems.

At Edison Next, we continue working day by day with local authorities and public institutions to bring energy efficiency to every corner of Spain, thereby helping our society continue advancing on the path to sustainability.

With this goal in mind, we are working to ensure that Molins del Rei continues to progress in its energy efficiency strategy, developing an ambitious project that will enable this Catalan municipality to become a more modern and efficient town.

The project, which involves an investment of €584,698 and will be 90% financed by the Barcelona Provincial Council through Feder funds, will provide the municipality with energy savings of 61.65% once completed.

To achieve this, Edison Next will carry out various actions, such as installing 16 remote management systems and control panels in different locations throughout the municipality, offering remote and automated control of lighting systems, enabling monitoring, adjustment, and precise scheduling of lights in the town. This leads to significant energy savings by optimizing consumption, facilitates preventive maintenance by detecting issues early, offers adaptability to specific needs, and reduces light pollution, thus providing more efficient and intelligent management of lighting resources.

Furthermore, in addition to 1,000 meters of new power lines, we will install 60 poles and replace a total of 984 luminaires, swapping the old ones for new-generation units. With this action, the municipality will have over 50% of its lighting using LED technology, which offers efficient, durable, and adaptable illumination, with lower energy consumption and a longer lifespan compared to conventional light sources.

All these actions, spread across various areas of the municipality, not only promote advanced lighting management but also ensure an estimated annual savings of nearly €75,000, thus contributing to the municipality's long-term financial and environmental sustainability.

This ambitious project consolidates the commitment of the municipality of Molins del Rei to promoting efficiency and maximum energy savings, while also demonstrating its goal of becoming a benchmark municipality in terms of sustainability and lighting modernization, with Edison Next as a key ally in achieving this.
