Edison Next Joins Gasnam to Promote Biomethane and Green Hydrogen in Mobility

At Edison Next, we have joined Gasnam–Neutral Transport to support sustainable transportation. This alliance aims to actively collaborate in the decarbonization of mobility by promoting the use of alternative fuels such as biomethane and green hydrogen.

In line with this, Edison Next is developing energy solutions to facilitate the adoption of these fuels in key sectors like heavy-duty and maritime transport. We also advocate for cooperation among companies, public administrations, and specialized entities as a crucial driver to accelerate the transition toward carbon-neutral mobility.

Biogas and Biomethane: Key to Green Transport

One of the pillars of our work is the production of biogas and biomethane from organic waste. In Spain and across Europe, we are developing innovative projects that enable the injection of biomethane into the distribution grid, offering a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. Likewise, we are advancing initiatives involving green hydrogen—a key technology for decarbonizing not only transportation but also the broader industrial sector.
