GREENING, ATLANTICA, AND EDISON NEXT JOIN FORCES TO BECOME A LEADER IN THE BIOMETHANE MARKET
Greening, Atlantica, and Edison Next have formed a strategic alliance to develop a portfolio of biomethane projects with a total capacity of 907.4 GWh.
Through this agreement, the three companies will collaborate on 17 energy projects across Spain, three of which—two in Andalusia and one in Castilla y León—are set to begin construction in 2026.
Greening: Expanding Its Renewable Portfolio
Greening, a global and diversified company focused on renewable energy generation, project development, and energy trading, has been actively investing in biogas since 2023. This move strengthens its position in the biomethane business, showcasing its adaptability in operational, technological, and financial strategies within a highly dynamic market.
Aligned with its commitment to renewable energy development, Greening promotes circular economy solutions that reduce CO₂ emissions by valorizing agricultural and livestock waste. Its multi-technology approach also includes solar PV, wind, and battery storage (BESS).
Atlantica: A Renewable Powerhouse Entering the Biogas Sector
Atlantica, a well-established renewable energy company operating in 12 countries with $1.1+ billion in annual revenue, brings its expertise to the partnership. With 2.2 GW of installed renewable capacity and an ambitious growth plan, Atlantica is expanding into biogas as a promising clean energy alternative. Its development pipeline includes 3 GW of renewables and 12 GWh of battery storage.
