Edison Next Installs a 6,000 m² Photovoltaic Plant for Faerch in Valencia

Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the energy group EDISON and the French multinational EDF, has completed the installation of a large photovoltaic plant of over 6,000 m² for the Valencian company Faerch. This project, with a capacity of 1,271 kWp, is located at Faerch’s facilities in the municipality of Buñol, and will enable 1,612 MWh of photovoltaic self-consumption.

The photovoltaic installation by Edison Next stands out for its cutting-edge technology and use of next-generation materials. Thanks to this combination of advanced technology and innovative materials, the packaging company is expected to achieve a self-consumption rate equivalent to 9.5% of its annual energy demand. This initiative not only demonstrates both companies’ commitment to innovation but also ensures efficient and sustained solar energy generation.

The project, part of the group’s broader self-consumption energy strategy, represents a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in the Valencian Community. Moreover, it will avoid the emission of 533 tons of CO₂ per year, equivalent to planting 1,761 trees annually.

In addition, as a direct result of this initiative, the company expects to achieve significant economic savings in both the short and long term through a substantial reduction in energy costs. Specifically, in the early years, the group is projected to save 29%, amounting to €54,192 annually.

Over time, the plant’s efficiency and productivity will increase, enabling annual savings of €173,770 by year 16 after project launch. In total, over 25 years, Faerch will have saved €2,963,693, demonstrating the high profitability and economic impact of this renewable energy investment. These savings will not only strengthen the company’s financial position but also allow for reinvestment in additional sustainability and business growth initiatives.

Additionally, as per the agreement, Edison Next will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the photovoltaic plant, ensuring optimal and efficient operation of the system and guaranteeing the continued production of high-quality renewable energy.

“The strong synergy of this collaboration is reflected in the results achieved. The initial photovoltaic project has been a success and has delivered tangible benefits to our company. The collaboration between the two companies marks a significant milestone in the adoption of renewable energy in the Valencian Community, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change and promote responsible business practices,”
said Manuel Villena Badía, Head of Industry at Faerch Buñol.
