Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and French giant EDF, has announced the acquisition of Ecoclima, a company with over 20 years of experience in the aerothermal, HVAC, and ventilation systems market, and an annual turnover of €14 million.

Through this strategic move, Edison Next strengthens its presence in a rapidly growing market, enhancing its portfolio of energy solutions with top-tier installation capabilities. The integration of Ecoclima not only expands the scope of Edison Next’s services but also enables greater project execution efficiency, offering tighter control over processes and a more agile response to market demands. This acquisition reinforces Edison Next’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence in a key sector for energy transition and decarbonization.

The acquisition was fully financed with internal capital, ensuring stability and autonomy in management. Ecoclima brings a solid foundation to the group with a turnover of €14 million and a team of 43 employees.

A Strategic Decision Backed by Experience

Edison Next and Ecoclima already had a working relationship through Consistrol, which gave Edison Next first-hand insight into the company’s technical expertise and reliability.

“Ecoclima is a company with an impeccable track record and proven experience in the HVAC sector. Its integration into Edison Next enables us to offer more comprehensive solutions with greater control over project execution,”
said José María Otero, Head of Corporate Development at Edison Next Spain.

This acquisition gives Edison Next a competitive advantage, with a leading in-house installer that improves response time and ensures even more efficient service delivery. In the short and medium term, Ecoclima will continue to operate independently and serve third-party clients, ensuring a smooth transition for all customers and partners.

“Becoming part of Edison Next is a natural step in our growth. We will continue to work with the same quality and commitment, now with the support of a major group that will open the door to new opportunities and challenges,”
said Jorge Juan Razquin, Sole Administrator of Ecoclima.

Strengthening Strategic Sectors

The integration of Ecoclima will help Edison Next consolidate its presence in the B2G (Business to Government) and B2T (Business to Territory) segments, with a strong focus on the tertiary sector and data centers. It will also reinforce its position in healthcare, where Ecoclima already has extensive experience delivering major projects such as the new Hospital of Alcañiz (Aragonese Health Service) and the Quirón Salud Hospital in Zaragoza.

Additionally, this operation boosts Edison Next’s footprint in other key sectors such as education, elder care facilities, and hospitality, thanks to Ecoclima’s previous involvement in projects such as:

  • CEIP Ricardo Mur in Casetas (Zaragoza)

  • New Classroom Building at the University of San Jorge Campus in Villanueva de Gállego

  • Elderly Care Facility in Valdespartera (Zaragoza)

  • Hotel Avenida and Hotel Plaza Feria (Zaragoza)

A Gradual Integration Roadmap

Ecoclima’s integration into Edison Next will be gradual. Administrative and financial processes will be aligned in 2025, with the full operational integration set to begin progressively from 2026. During this period, the company will maintain its current structure, and its founder will continue to lead the team.

In the short term, Ecoclima will continue operating as it has, including participation in strategic projects such as tenders for the Iberostar hotel network. In the medium term, it is expected to collaborate in new tenders and joint projects with Edison Next. Full integration into Edison Next Spain will be completed in the long term.

With this alliance, Edison Next reaffirms its commitment to energy transition and decarbonization, with a strong focus on innovation and efficiency in the HVAC and ventilation sector.
