Edison Next concentrates two-thirds of the Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) in unique industrial projects in Andalusia.

Edison Next Spain (a subsidiary of the energy giant EDF) has established itself as one of the main drivers of unique energy efficiency projects in Andalusian industry, after managing 27.7 GWh of the 42 GWh issued in 2025 in the region, which is equivalent to nearly two-thirds of the total energy saved through this type of action. This volume reflects the company’s leadership in the region. Unique projects are highly complex technical actions, custom-designed for each production process and adapted to the particularities of each industrial facility. Unlike standardized measures, these projects require a detailed analysis of operations, precise integration into existing systems, and comprehensive management that maximizes verified savings. In this area, Edison Next has supported prominent clients in the agri-food, chemical, glass, and steel sectors. The process ranges from identifying improvement opportunities in their facilities, implementing savings measures, to verifying, issuing, and paying the corresponding CAEs, acting as an energy partner throughout the entire project cycle. The application of the Energy Savings Certificate (CAE) system has been one of the most decisive factors in the development of these actions. This mechanism, promoted by MITECO and managed by the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Andalusian Regional Government, allows verified energy savings to be converted into additional economic returns, improving project profitability and reducing the investment effort that companies or organizations must face. For Andalusian industry, CAEs have become a decisive incentive that has accelerated the implementation of energy efficiency measures. From an institutional perspective, CAEs also contribute to meeting energy savings targets set at the national level, strengthening public-private collaboration as a lever to advance the energy transition and improve industrial competitiveness. With these results, the energy services company consolidates itself in 2025 as a key player in one of the territories with the greatest potential for developing industrial energy efficiency projects in Spain, preparing in 2026 to carry out new investments in the region.
