Edison Next Spain, a subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, has been awarded a project promoted by the Regional Government of Andalusia to deploy energy self-consumption and sustainable mobility solutions in the province of Almería. The...
For years, many companies' energy strategies have relied on a single solution, such as a more efficient boiler, a photovoltaic installation, or an upgraded HVAC system. However, the current energy context has completely changed. Factors such as price volatility,...
The electrical system is undergoing a phase of transformation in which the role of the consumer is changing. The growing penetration of renewable energies, together with a more volatile price scenario, has positioned flexibility as an essential element to guarantee...
At Edison Next we continue to advance our commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions that help modernize and improve the municipalities of our country. As a result of this work, we have recently been awarded a new project promoted by the Sant Llorenç des...
Photovoltaic Self-consumption and the most efficient energy model
Photovoltaic (PV) Self-Consumption is gaining momentum among industrial companies, and EDF Fenice offers the most comprehensive and complete Photovoltaic Self-Consumption model, from technical design and commissioning to operation, monitoring, and maintenance. The company assumes 100% of the client’s investment, which is amortized through the savings obtained from self-consumed energy during the contract term. Once the contract ends, the savings from self-produced energy are fully enjoyed by the client.

With this system, companies gain access to the production and consumption of this type of energy—green, infinite, and much more efficient—which powers their production facilities, improving the final result while delegating its management to EDF Fenice specialists.
As an Energy Services Company, EDF Fenice provides total and ongoing assistance to its clients and approaches these projects through two main types of agreements: Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Photovoltaic Quota Agreements.
The first (Power Purchase Agreement) involves purchasing an agreed volume of electricity (€/kWh) at a price lower than what is currently being paid, ensuring a cost reduction. Comprehensive maintenance is included during the contract term, typically between 10 and 15 years.
Many companies have already opted for one of these modalities and have entrusted EDF Fenice with the installation of photovoltaic solar panels on their buildings, after a prior analysis of the most profitable PV Self-Consumption solution for their consumption profile, energy needs, and activity.
Secondly, there is the Photovoltaic Quota modality, an agreement whereby the client pays a fixed monthly fee for the energy consumed (€/month). Thus, the client ensures coverage of a percentage of the energy previously purchased from the grid, but at a lower price. This type of lease benefits the client, as it allows them to cover the monthly fees with the savings generated by the PV plant’s own energy production. Additionally, no initial investment is required.
EDF Fenice offers both alternatives to its clients, including the commissioning and operation of photovoltaic assets, which, together with comprehensive maintenance, ensure optimal performance of the installation and economic benefits. Furthermore, as an energy services company, it has highly qualified professionals for optimizing consumption and operating other types of energy assets for its clients, from both an economic and environmental perspective.
