EDF Fenice supports the mission of the Pequeño Deseo Foundation by donating its Christmas baskets.

The Pequeño Deseo Foundation, whose mission is to make hospital stays more bearable for children with chronic or terminal illnesses, has received a donation of Christmas baskets from EDF Fenice, a specialist in Energy Efficiency and Photovoltaic Self-Consumption solutions for the industrial sector. Specifically, the energy company has donated the value of 17 Christmas baskets directly contributed by employees who decided to join the cause during this month of December. This charitable initiative was driven by the People and Talent Department and is part of the corporate social responsibility plans being promoted by EDF Fenice. “Children are the stars during the Christmas season. With this action, we want to do our part to strengthen the hope of children suffering from illnesses this Christmas,” explained Juan Manuel García, Director of People and Talent at EDF Fenice. The Pequeño Deseo Foundation, beneficiary of this charitable action, is dedicated to making the wishes of children with chronic or terminal illnesses come true, in order to provide them with emotional support during their treatment and make their illness more bearable. And, as the organization explains: “when a child suffers from an illness, they are more vulnerable physically and emotionally.” At this point, scientifically backed studies have shown that fulfilling a wish generates positive emotions in the child, which have a real effect on their well-being and physical improvement. To this end, and driven by a concern for the humanization of hospitals, the Pequeño Deseo Foundation organizes activities in hospitals to make stays more pleasant: decorating Hospital Classrooms, workshops with children, outings, support for other organizations, visits to children, visits from characters in hospitals, among others. With this donation, EDF Fenice highlights its commitment to society, as well as its fulfillment of its global corporate social responsibility objectives, prioritizing local initiatives that arise from the human team that makes up the company.
