Edison Next enables an annual energy saving of 50,000 euros with a photovoltaic project at the ICFC ice cream factory in Valencia.

The installation is expected to have a capacity of 1.27 MWp and generate 1,658 MWh per year Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, has agreed with ICE CREAM FACTORY COMAKER (ICFC), a global leader in innovative ice cream solutions, to implement a photovoltaic self-consumption project. The installation, with an installed capacity of 1.27 MWp, will be located at the multinational’s plant in Valencia. The project, based on photovoltaic solar energy, will generate more than 1,658 MWh/year of clean energy, enabling the food company to achieve energy savings of 50,000 euros per year. Additionally, the energy produced by this new installation will be equivalent to planting more than 1,804 trees and will prevent the emission of more than 547 tons of CO₂ per year.   Edison Next will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of the photovoltaic installation, which will feature the most advanced technology, both in terms of solar panels and auxiliary components. Likewise, the energy company will also provide a management system to monitor both the energy generated and consumed at the plant. With all this, the energy initiative will be carried out under the PPA service model, a power purchase agreement, which reduces investment risks due to technical issues and generates economic and energy savings from day one. “The launch of this photovoltaic project at the ICFC plant in Valencia will bring significant economic and energy benefits from day one. And, indeed, EDISON Next will not only manage the installation comprehensively, from design to commissioning and execution of preventive maintenance services, but will also handle all investment under the 15-year PPA model,” explains Jon Macías, Commercial Director of Edison Next Spain.
