Edison Next and EOS energy promote energy rehabilitation in residential communities through energy savings certificates.
Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, together with EOS energy, a specialist in energy efficiency and renewable energies, have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to boost energy rehabilitation in residential communities through Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs).
This innovative agreement lays the groundwork for managing Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) generated in EOS projects across various autonomous communities (CCAA), enabling the monetization of energy savings and providing added value to homeowners’ associations by reducing their final investment.
The initial project, which will address the complete energy rehabilitation of the “Las Cumbres” homeowners’ association in Guadalajara, represents an investment of nearly 4,000,000 euros, divided between funds from Next Generation EU and the CAEs. This project has received one of the most significant subsidies in Spain and marks a milestone as the first example of implementing CAEs in the residential sector on this scale.
The rehabilitation focuses on insulating facades, interior courtyards, and roofs, replacing windows in common areas, implementing aerothermal systems for heating and hot water, supported by new gas boilers, installing hybrid solar panels, and LED lighting with presence and twilight sensors in common areas. In this way, the rehabilitation measures ensure an 87% savings in primary energy consumption, far exceeding the requirements to obtain the maximum subsidy.
This achievement is the result of the synergy between two companies whose characteristics have complemented each other to offer a successful solution. On one hand, Edison Next, with international experience but a local presence, is a Delegate Entity with experience in CAEs in countries such as France and Italy and played an active role in developing Spanish regulations. Additionally, the company has direct experience in energy efficiency across various sectors and is capable of covering the entire value chain.
On the other hand, EOS energy, as a Rehabilitation Agent, guarantees a savings contract with an energy spending cap that covers a large part of the investment, while offering 100% financing with its own funds (EOS capital) and advancing costs until the end of the project. Furthermore, it provides support to residents beyond the project’s completion, maintaining the installations under full warranty and energy management terms.
This collaboration between leading companies in the sector promises to promote and make more accessible one of the solutions that, today, best ensures energy efficiency and savings for residential communities. The experience and commitment in the field of energy efficiency of both companies are enabling significant progress toward a more responsible and sustainable energy model.
