CastellBisbal joins the group of municipalities that trust Edison Next to improve and expand their public lighting network.

At Edison Next, we continue to advance on the path of leading the energy transition and, with it, bringing efficiency to every corner of Spain. For this reason, we work with local administrations in the management and maintenance of cities’ energy consumption and their lighting. This synergy allows us to tackle climate change from all perspectives, helping cities become more attractive, sustainable, and safe through energy. With this goal in mind, our company has been awarded a new contract by the Castellbisbal City Council. The aim of this contract, with a budget of €152,696, is to ensure that Castellbisbal continues to advance in its energy efficiency strategy, developing an ambitious project to become a more modern and efficient town. Through this project, at Edison Next we will renovate and improve the outdoor lighting of the urban center and areas such as Santa Teresita, Colònia Carme, and El Canyet, among others. To do this, we will replace the current VSAP outdoor luminaires with a new generation of LED technology luminaires, which promises greater energy efficiency and will significantly improve the lighting quality of Castellbisbal’s urban areas. The replacement of VSAP outdoor luminaires with LED technology, a measure that more and more Spanish and European cities are adopting, not only leads to a considerable reduction in energy consumption but also generates a positive impact on long-term operating costs. The greater efficiency of LED luminaires will quickly translate into a direct decrease in electricity bills. Additionally, the greater durability and lifespan of LED lights will minimize expenses associated with the maintenance and frequent replacement of conventional luminaires. On the other hand, this transition towards more efficient technologies will not only result in substantial economic savings for the community of Castellbisbal but will also contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, thus promoting a more sustainable and environmentally friendly environment. This ambitious project, which according to the agreement we will complete by April 15 of this year 2024, demonstrates the commitment of the municipality of Castellbisbal in its bet to promote efficiency and maximum energy savings, in addition to showing its desire to become one of the reference municipalities in terms of sustainability and lighting modernization.
