Edison Next installs a 6,000 m² photovoltaic plant for Faerch in Valencia.

Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French multinational EDF, has installed a large photovoltaic plant spanning over 6,000 m² for the Valencian company Faerch. This project, with a capacity of 1,271 kWp, located at Faerch’s facilities in the municipality of Buñol, will enable photovoltaic self-consumption of 1,612 MWh. The photovoltaic installation carried out by Edison Next stands out for its focus on cutting-edge technology and the use of state-of-the-art materials. Thanks to this combination of advanced technology and innovative materials, the packaging company is expected to achieve self-consumption equivalent to 9.5% of its annual energy demand. This initiative not only demonstrates both companies’ commitment to innovation but also ensures efficient and sustained solar energy generation. The project, which is part of the business group’s energy self-consumption strategy, represents a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental care in the Valencian Community. Additionally, this project will prevent the emission of 533 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to planting 1,761 trees annually. Furthermore, as a direct result of this initiative, the company expects to achieve significant short- and long-term economic savings due to the substantial reduction in its energy costs. Specifically, it is projected that in the first few years, the group will achieve savings of 29%, equivalent to 54,192 euros per year. As the years go by, the efficiency and productivity of the plant will increase, allowing for annual savings of 173,770 euros 16 years after the project’s launch. Finally, after 25 years, Faerch will have achieved total savings of 2,963,693 euros, demonstrating the high profitability and economic impact of this investment in renewable energy. These savings will not only strengthen the company’s financial position but also enable it to reinvest in additional sustainability and business growth initiatives. In parallel, as agreed, Edison Next will handle the preventive and corrective maintenance of the photovoltaic plant, thus ensuring optimal and efficient operation of the installation and guaranteeing the continuous production of high-quality renewable energy. “The good synergy of this collaboration is reflected in the results obtained, as the initial photovoltaic project has been a success and has generated tangible benefits for our company. The collaboration between both companies marks a significant milestone in the adoption of renewable energies in the Valencian Community, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change and promote responsible business practices,” states Manuel Villena Badía, Head of Industry Buñol Faerch.
