Edison Next boosts the energy efficiency and reliability of the Port of Palma.
At Edison Next, we continue to advance our commitment to developing energy solutions that improve the efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of infrastructures. As a result of this commitment, we have been awarded the contract for the electrical maintenance of the low-voltage network and lighting of the Port of Palma, managed by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB).
The service, which we officially began on February 9, represents a major step in ensuring the proper functioning of a vital infrastructure, both from a logistical and economic standpoint, in the Mediterranean. With an initial duration of one year, extendable up to a maximum of five, thanks to this contract we will adapt the service to the operational needs of the port, ensuring continuous and efficient management of its electrical installations.
The scope of the project covers the comprehensive maintenance of the low-voltage network and the lighting system, for which we will carry out both preventive and corrective actions. Additionally, it includes regulatory inspections, preparation of technical reports, and the ability to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This approach will ensure both service continuity and the safety of the installations and the people operating within them.
One of the most notable aspects of this project is its focus on sustainability and responsible resource management. As is customary, we will carry out all actions under strict compliance with environmental regulations, including the proper management and treatment of waste generated during activities. Thus, this shared commitment reinforces the role of the Port of Palma as an infrastructure aligned with the objectives of energy transition and environmental impact reduction.
The award, with a budget of over 545,000 euros, is structured through a unit price model that allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in the execution of the work. Likewise, extended guarantees are incorporated for both materials and interventions carried out, which helps ensure the quality and durability of the implemented solutions.
At Edison Next, we will approach this project with a comprehensive approach that combines technical knowledge, operational capacity, and a vision oriented towards continuous improvement. Our goal is not only to maintain existing infrastructures but also to optimize the performance of those already in place, anticipate potential incidents, and contribute to the modernization of the port’s electrical system.
The collaboration and shared commitment with the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands reflects the importance of establishing alliances that allow us all to evolve towards more efficient, safe, and sustainable energy models. Infrastructures like the Port of Palma require reliable solutions adapted to highly demanding environments, where the reliability of the electrical supply is a critical element for its daily activity.
With this new contract, we strengthen our presence in the field of strategic infrastructures in our country and consolidate our commitment to excellence in energy management.
