Edison Next promotes new efficient and intelligent monumental lighting in Seville.
At Edison Next we continue working to advance our commitment to energy efficiency and the enhancement of the historical heritage of our territory through innovative solutions. In this vein, we are developing a new project for the rehabilitation and replacement of the monumental lighting system of the Torre del Oro and the Archivo de Indias, two of the most emblematic landmarks in the city of Seville.
The project involves the complete renovation of the current lighting systems of both monuments, replacing them with new high-energy-efficiency lighting based on the latest generation LED technology. This action, in addition to improving the efficiency of the lighting installations, will also open up new possibilities in the way these historical spaces are enjoyed and valued.
One of the most outstanding aspects of our intervention is the incorporation of RGB projectors with color-changing capability, which will allow the lighting of the monuments to be adapted to different contexts and needs. Thanks to this technology, it will be possible to modify the light tone, from warm to cool whites, as well as create dynamic environments through the use of vibrant colors and specific lighting compositions. With this, we will facilitate the commemoration and celebration of significant dates or special events, offering new visual perspectives that were not possible until now.
Beyond the aesthetic component, our proposal represents a major advance in terms of sustainability. The new solution will reduce the necessary energy consumption by approximately 44% compared to the current system, which translates into an estimated reduction of about 28 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. In this way, we will actively contribute to reducing environmental impact, and far from doing so by sacrificing the quality or functionality of the lighting, we will improve it.
Thanks to our experience, we have managed to reduce the budget required to carry out the project, which initially stood at 385,000 euros. In this way, we have optimized the investment and guaranteed maximum efficiency in the execution of the project. This approach reinforces our ability to develop solutions that combine technological innovation, sustainability, and economic viability.
With this new project, at Edison Next Spain we consolidate ourselves as one of the main agents in the energy transformation and modernization of infrastructure and monuments in our country, integrating smart technology in environments of high heritage value. Lighting has ceased to be merely a functional element and has become a tool with the potential to improve the urban experience for residents and visitors, strengthen our cultural identity, and move towards more efficient and sustainable energy management models.
