Sustainability as a corporate principle
EDF Fenice’s Sustainability Policy is based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (
SDGs), a roadmap aimed at promoting, among other areas, environmental care through more efficient use of resources, fostering the circular economy, and enhancing the reduction of the carbon footprint.
As a fundamental sustainability tool, the EDF Fenice Code of Ethics outlines six major areas of action, broken down into 10 quantitative objectives to address decarbonization. This reflects the company’s commitment to being part of a Carbon Neutral future, where the reduction of the carbon footprint generated by business activity is maximized.
All of the company’s business processes revolve around the EDF Fenice Sustainability Policy, which translates into support for the principles of integrity, respect for human rights, and innovation to foster the transformation of businesses (SDGs 8, 11, and 12).
Addressing climate change and minimizing environmental impact are fundamental aspects of the company’s strategy. It develops Energy Efficiency and renewable energy solutions to reduce the carbon footprint and consumption of its clients, based on a comprehensive and innovative proposal for energy services (reflected in SDGs 7 and 13) and a Sustainability Policy whose main pillars include the intention to act responsibly within its ecosystem (economic, human, and environmental).
Aware of the impact of its value chain, EDF Fenice has focused particularly on protecting the environment and the health of the local communities where it operates, progressively improving process efficiency and reducing the effects of its activities on people and habitats. This is achieved by incorporating the best technologies and following the best international standards for the development of its activities across all its plants.
EDF Fenice considers the conservation and improvement of biodiversity and ecosystems as essential aspects of its corporate policy, as well as ongoing dialogue with local communities (SDGs 9, 14, 15).
Another key point of this policy involves establishing increasingly close relationships with clients and local communities. To this end, EDF Fenice has strengthened its dialogue tools, control procedures, and the consolidation of belonging to the EDF Fenice ecosystem, using the most modern digital technologies to offer an increasingly comprehensive and sustainable range of solutions and services (SDGs 7 and 12).
Ultimately, the criteria set forth in the EDF Fenice Code of Ethics serve as a guide for complying with appropriate rules of conduct and performance standards regarding human rights, labor relations, business transparency, and the environment, creating value throughout its entire ecosystem and contributing to the well-being and growth of all stakeholders involved on the path towards the ecological transition.
