Edison Next drives new advances in ITP Aero’s energy strategy.

Edison Next Spain reinforces its leading role in the energy transition of the industrial sector through its collaboration with ITP Aero, a leading company in aeronautical propulsion systems and components for commercial and defense aviation. The Spanish energy company is leading the implementation of several projects that will enable ITP Aero to advance its energy strategy, demonstrating how Edison Next’s expertise transforms energy management for large-scale industrial companies. One of the pillars of this joint effort is the installation of photovoltaic plants at several of ITP Aero’s sites. To date, Edison Next has completed solar self-consumption projects in Albacete, Derio, Ajalvir, and Zamudio, with the latter becoming the largest photovoltaic carport park in the Basque Country. In total, these installations add up to 1,955 MWp of photovoltaic capacity, with Zamudio standing out at 962 kWp and Ajalvir at 723 kWp. Together, they will generate 2,289 MWh of renewable electricity annually, which will help reduce energy consumption and associated emissions at the various sites. The collaboration between ITP Aero and Edison Next Spain is a clear example of how synergy between major players can translate into innovative solutions that deliver tangible benefits both environmentally and economically. Thanks to planned investment and the deployment of new technologies, including the various photovoltaic installations, ITP Aero is achieving a significant reduction in its energy costs and strengthening its competitiveness in an aeronautical sector marked by growing operational and environmental demands. Sergio Calvo, Sales Manager North at Edison Next Spain, highlighted that “for us, it is a source of pride to accompany ITP Aero on its path towards decarbonization. Our goal has always been and will continue to be to provide innovative energy solutions that, in addition to promoting sustainability, also contribute to the competitiveness and profitability of companies in an increasingly demanding industrial context.” Furthermore, beyond the implementation of photovoltaic energy, Edison Next is providing a comprehensive approach to improve the energy efficiency of the facilities. In a business and industrial context increasingly driven by the transition towards sustainable energy models, collaborations like this are becoming a catalyst for incorporating more efficient technologies, reducing environmental impact, and advancing more responsible energy management. This dynamic, far from being limited to specific cases, is driving the evolution of the industrial fabric as a whole.
