Edison Next presents its roadmap to boost public investment and the takeoff of green gases in industry.

Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, participated in GENERA 2025, the international energy and environment fair held at IFEMA, where it presented its value proposition in two strategic areas for the energy transition: Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) and renewable gases.  The company attended the event alongside ANESE and APPA Renovables, reinforcing its collaboration with industry associations to show how these instruments are accelerating efficiency and decarbonization in the public, industrial, and service sectors in Spain.  The GENERA program included two roundtables with participation from Edison Next. The first, “CAEs in the Public Sector”, sponsored by ANESE, featured the intervention of José María Suazo, Head of Business Development – Building & Cities at Edison Next Spain. Suazo explained how public administrations can boost their energy efficiency and emission reduction plans through comprehensive management models, building digitalization (BMS), and green financing based on CAEs. The roundtable also brought together representatives from Naturgy, Acciona, and Iberdrola, fostering an enriching debate on how to transform energy savings into a true lever for change.  The second participation took place on Wednesday, November 19, in the roundtable “Renewable gases: decarbonizing the gas sector”, organized by APPA Renovables. In it, Luis Urrutia, Director of Industry and Renewable Gases at Edison Next Spain, analyzed the technological, regulatory, and certification evolution in the biomethane field. Urrutia highlighted the enormous potential of this energy vector and called for greater regulatory clarity to accelerate its deployment.  “Biomethane is the shortest path to decarbonization. If we bet on biomethane solutions, in a few years we could be generating between 30-40% of the gas we consume in Spain,” Urrutia noted.   The advancement of renewable gases also takes on a European dimension. This same week, Spain and France announced their expectation of having a hydrogen interconnection by 2032, consolidating the role of green hydrogen and biomethane as pillars of energy independence and integration into a European clean energy market. In this scenario, Edison Next positions itself as a strategic partner in projects that combine infrastructure, technological innovation, certification, and sustainable financing, from local initiatives to cross-border corridors.  With its presence at GENERA 2025, Edison Next reaffirms that its value proposition is fully aligned with the major energy transformations in Spain and Europe. The company argues that energy is no longer just a cost to manage, but a lever for innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability capable of generating a positive impact on both businesses and society as a whole.
