Edison Next responsible for the lighting of Calvià
At Edison Next we continue to reinforce our commitment to energy efficiency, urban sustainability, and citizen well-being. We have recently been awarded the tender for the maintenance service of public outdoor lighting in the municipality of Calvià, Mallorca, a major project that will allow us to actively contribute to the progressive improvement of local infrastructure and its energy efficiency.
This contract, with an initial duration of one year, includes a possible extension of up to three additional years. The amount awarded for the first year amounts to 539,403 euros, a figure optimized thanks to the reduction in the unit prices offered, which will allow more work to be carried out with the same resources. The estimated value of the contract, if all extensions are activated and future modifications are considered taking into account the extensions, would exceed 2.5 million euros.
Unlike other one-off renovation works, this project is a comprehensive outdoor lighting maintenance contract, which includes preventive and corrective tasks throughout the entire municipality. More than 15,000 lighting points, distributed in public roads, green areas, sports courts, and emblematic spaces such as fountains, churches, and monuments, will be subject to continuous monitoring and attention.
One of the objectives of our project will be to minimize the impact of the works on the urban environment and residents. At Edison Next, we have committed to carrying out all tasks with the highest standards of environmental respect and with the least possible inconvenience for citizens.
Furthermore, the offer we have presented not only guarantees a high-quality technical service but also allows, thanks to the achieved economic efficiency, for additional resources to be allocated to future technological improvements and partial system renovations, based on the needs that are defined throughout the contract.
Better lighting will significantly reduce the municipality’s electricity consumption, resulting in economic savings and a direct decrease in CO₂ emissions. Additionally, it will improve lighting quality on streets, in parks, and public spaces, increasing safety and comfort for residents.
This project reaffirms, once again, our commitment to the energy transformation of municipalities in our country. At Edison Next, we continue and will continue working to offer solutions that combine sustainability, innovation, and efficiency, in the service of cities and people.
