Edison Next acquires Ecoclima to strengthen its position in the energy efficiency and decarbonization sector.
Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, announces the acquisition of Ecoclima, a company with over 20 years of experience in the aerothermal energy and HVAC systems market, with an annual turnover of 14 million euros.
With this strategic operation, Edison Next strengthens its position in a rapidly expanding market, consolidating its energy solutions offering by incorporating leading installation capabilities into its portfolio. The integration of Ecoclima not only broadens the scope of its services but also allows it to optimize the execution of energy efficiency projects, ensuring greater control over processes and a more agile response to market needs. This acquisition reinforces Edison Next’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence in a key sector for the energy transition and decarbonization.
The acquisition has been fully financed with its own capital, ensuring stability and autonomy in management. Ecoclima has an annual turnover of 14 million euros and a team of 43 employees, reinforcing its solidity within the group.
A strategic decision based on experience
Edison Next and Ecoclima already had a prior relationship through Consistrol, which allowed the energy company to gain first-hand knowledge of the company’s solidity and technical capability. “Ecoclima is a company with an impeccable track record and proven experience in the HVAC sector. Its incorporation into Edison Next allows us to offer more comprehensive solutions with greater control over project execution,” says José María Otero, Head of Corporate Development at Edison Next Spain.
This acquisition gives Edison Next a competitive advantage, as it will have a reference in-house installer, improving response capacity and ensuring an even more efficient service. In the short and medium term, Ecoclima will continue to operate independently and provide services to third parties, ensuring a smooth transition for its clients and partners.
“Becoming part of Edison Next is a natural step in our evolution. We will continue working with the same standards of quality and commitment, now backed by a large group that will allow us to access new opportunities and challenges,” states Jorge Juan Razquin, Sole Administrator of Ecoclima.
The integration of Ecoclima will allow Edison Next to consolidate its presence in the B2G and B2T segments, with a priority focus on the tertiary sector and data centers. Additionally, it will strengthen its positioning in the hospital sector, where Ecoclima already has extensive experience in large-scale projects, such as the new Alcañiz Hospital of the Aragonese Health Service and the Quirón Salud Hospital in Zaragoza. Likewise, the operation also reinforces Edison Next’s presence in key sectors such as education, nursing homes, and the hotel industry, thanks to Ecoclima’s prior experience in projects like the Ricardo Mur School (CEIP) in Casetas (Zaragoza), the New Classroom Building on the San Jorge University Campus in Villanueva de Gallego, the Nursing Home for Dependent Elderly People in Valdespartera (Zaragoza), and hotels such as Hotel Avenida and Hotel Plaza Feria, both in Zaragoza.
Ecoclima’s transition within Edison Next will be gradual. In 2025, administrative and financial processes will be integrated, while the remaining operations will be progressively incorporated starting in 2026. During this period, the company will maintain its current structure, and its founder will continue to lead the team.
In the short term, Ecoclima will continue to operate as before, including in its portfolio participation in strategic projects such as tenders for the Iberostar hotel chain. In the medium term, it is expected to collaborate on new tenders and projects alongside Edison Next. In the long term, the full integration of the company within Edison Next Spain will be completed.
With this alliance, Edison Next reaffirms its commitment to the energy transition and decarbonization, betting on innovation and efficiency in the HVAC sector.
