Edison Next participates in the IV Business Conference on Renewable Energy of El Economista

El Economista organizes the 4th Business Conference on Renewable Energy under the title: Renewables: the new European ambition, during which all the needs, challenges and objectives to address the energy transition will be discussed. The meeting, which will take place on March 16 at the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid, in a hybrid format and will be broadcast live through the media’s website, will feature the participation of Edison Next Spain along with other companies in the sector. Under a context in which the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan foresees renewable electricity generation of 60% by 2025 and 74% by 2030. These figures represent an increase of approximately 60 GW of electricity generation capacity during the period 2021-2030. To accelerate the deployment of renewables, certain barriers still exist. Among them, it is necessary to maximize the use of the existing grid and current permits, in line with what is indicated in the PNIEC itself. In this regard, the European Commission is preparing to increase requirements on climate change, setting new targets for CO2 capture and storage for industry and expanding its commitment to the installation of renewables. According to the Commission, to achieve the decarbonization goal by 2050, a balance will be needed between remaining emissions and the absorption of greenhouse gases that are difficult to reduce. In this sense, and with the intention of playing a leading role in the ecological transition and advising companies and entities on their path towards sustainability, Edison Next will present its value proposition through Jon Macías, Commercial and Marketing Director of the company, via different solutions that adapt to each business, building or city.
