Edison Next unveils its value proposition at Smart City Expo World Congress.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis triggered by the geopolitical situation have exacerbated significant challenges that inevitably impact the environment. As concerns about the progress of the green transition have grown worldwide, more voices are calling for clear decarbonization strategies. But how can cities continue to explore innovative solutions to meet their energy needs while addressing the climate transition? At the Smart City Expo World Congress, held this week in Barcelona, all solutions for making cities more sustainable were addressed. Cities where public transport coexists with new mobility options; inclusive cities where streets and public services are accessible to all; safe cities that address both security and privacy concerns; collective cities where collaboration and participation become a cornerstone for building a better and more prosperous future. Edison Next attended this congress, which has been held in Barcelona since 2011, to present both its value proposition and innovations to make cities more efficient and sustainable. All of this, not only through its stand at the congress but also through presentations by its experts. In this vein, Laura San Segundo, Head of Energy Management at Edison Next Spain, participated as a speaker in a roundtable to discuss decarbonization and how to achieve the goals set for 2030 to mitigate climate change and make cities more efficient. Meanwhile, Pau Drago, BU Public at Edison Next Spain, presented the solutions the company is implementing to make Smart Cities more efficient. And Alejandro Martín, Head of BMS Portfolio Management, showcased business management systems for smart cities, with the aim of continuing to drive the smart urban revolution. In short, Edison Next Spain concluded its participation in the congress with the accomplished goal of offering its vision of how to build better cities, always inspired by people. And indeed, the Smart City Expo World Congress brought together experts and leaders from the world’s most innovative cities, companies, research centers, and international organizations, with whom Edison Next shared ideas and news on how to regenerate infrastructure to make it more energy-efficient and sustainable.
