EDF Fenice and Optimiza Energía have participated in the energy transition forum.
They reveal the strategies, challenges, and success factors for addressing decarbonization in the business environment
EDF Fenice, a specialist in Energy Efficiency and Photovoltaic Self-Consumption solutions for the industrial and tertiary sectors, and Optimiza Energía, a consultancy specializing in energy market data analysis, participated in the Energy Transition Forum organized by the Rotary Club at the Palacio de los Marqueses de Vivel in Vall d’Uixó, Castellón, in collaboration with El Mundo Castellón al Día.
During the event, topics related to energy efficiency, decarbonization, distributed generation, and the promotion of renewable energy sources to address the energy transition and sustainability were discussed. The forum featured presentations by the CEO of EDF Fenice Iberica, Iñigo Bertrand, and Jose Vicente Enguídanos from OPTIMIZA.
For the decarbonization of the industrial sector, the CEO of EDF Fenice proposed a strategy based on 4D+C energy: Digital, Decarbonized, Distributed, and Democratized, but also Competitive for companies. According to the executive, “any company that aims to be Carbon Neutral within a more or less distant timeframe must implement a decarbonization strategy to ensure the environmental sustainability we all aspire to.”
Furthermore, Bertrand explained that “a set of variables must be considered. On one hand, there is a wide range of solutions and technologies in constant evolution. On the other, an increasingly demanding regulatory framework at both national and European levels.” In this regard, he emphasized that “making the right decisions is essential for the ecological transition of organizations to be successful and to avoid errors with serious consequences for business viability.”
The CEO of Optimiza Energía, José Vicente Enguídanos, explained at the meeting the current market situation and the various products that will allow industry to fix a percentage of the energy price it demands, independent of market volatility. This is especially relevant at a time when the business sector is seeking ways to face this situation of uncertainty, which is resulting in increased energy costs and a consequent decline in productivity.
“Identifying the best products, based on interpreting market data and customer consumption, is one of the keys to reducing energy costs. Establishing the appropriate mix in the medium and long term is part of the strategy we propose to companies to achieve the established cost objectives,” was one of the executive’s conclusions.
Strategies and success factors for addressing CO2 reduction at both national and local levels were discussed in a day of conferences and colloquia held on November 18 at the Palacio de los Marqueses de Vivel in Vall d’Uixó, Castellón. This was a meeting point for leaders of the energy industry, administrations, and managers of large projects, where the needs, opportunities, and challenges for addressing business decarbonization were put on the table.
