EDISON NEXT ARRIVES, THE EUROPEAN SPECIALIST IN DECARBONIZATION SOLUTIONS FOR COMPANIES AND PUBLIC ENTITIES

• With more than 3,500 people in Italy, Spain and Poland, Edison Next helps companies and public administrations tackle the challenge of the ecological transition, with a unique platform in the market that integrates services, technologies and capabilities.
• Its Strategic Plan until 2030 foresees investments of 2.5 billion euros in Italy and Spain, with the aim of reaching an EBITDA of 300 million euros. 
• Edison Next has recently closed the acquisition of Citelum and has taken control of Sistrol.  Citelum is the second largest public lighting provider in Italy and fifth in Spain, and operates in cities such as Venice, Naples and Syracuse, Barcelona, Madrid or Seville. For its part, Sistrol is a digital company specialized in energy services for the tertiary sector in Spain.

Edison launches Edison Next, the company created to help businesses and territories in their ecological transition and decarbonization. A unique platform of services, technologies and skills that already operates in Italy, Spain and Poland with more than 65 industrial sites and 3,500 people, 2,100 public and private structures and activity in 280 cities. Edison Next’s development plan includes investments of 2.5 billion euros until 2030, of which 300 million will be allocated to the Spanish energy services sector, and aims to achieve an EBITDA of 300 million euros. “Edison is the oldest energy company in Europe and intends to play a leading role in the ecological transition. It is the second largest public lighting operator in Italy and the fifth in Spain and holds a 10% market share. In Spain, Edison Next has also taken control of Sistrol, a digital company operating in the energy services market for the tertiary sector. Edison Next offers companies a transformation process that combines sustainability and competitiveness. The company aims to support its customers on their long journey towards decarbonization, with the analysis of their carbon footprint, the joint definition of objectives and the design and implementation of solutions that constantly monitor results. Edison Next also targets public administrations to support the development of territories, with energy services for buildings (schools, hospitals, sports centers, prisons) and urban regeneration solutions, in partnership with developers and builders. Edison Next operates through a platform of solutions and has an integrated, flexible and diversified multi-product offering, which includes energy and environmental consulting solutions (such as carbon footprint analysis and incentive search), for self-production of energy (such as photovoltaic and trigeneration), requalification and efficient use of all energy systems in industry and buildings (e.g. heat pumps, LED lighting and digital solutions), for the production and use of hydrogen and biomethane, sustainable mobility (electric, hydrogen and biomethane), smart cities and urban regeneration (sustainable heating, public lighting, traffic and mobility solutions, digital tools for energy planning and management of districts and cities) or for the circular economy (management and use of industrial waste, remediation and water treatment). According to the Green Deal objectives, by 2030, 55% of CO₂ emissions in Europe must be reduced (compared to those recorded in 1990). Europe will thus become the first climate-neutral continent (net CO₂ emissions equal to zero) in the second half of 2050. Achieving these objectives will require a significant contribution from companies and public administrations. Total investments in Italy are expected to exceed 60 billion euros and in Spain to reach 50 billion euros in the period 2022-2030.
