Edison Next in Spain: the beginning of a story of innovation and leadership in the energy sector
A year ago, a new company entered the Spanish energy market with the goal of revolutionizing the way energy is consumed and generated in our country. That company was Edison Next, a global leader in the energy sector that decided to bet on Spain as one of the key markets in its growth strategy.
Since its arrival, it has stood out for offering a wide range of innovative and sustainable energy services and solutions, ranging from the supply of 100% renewable energy to the design and management of energy efficiency projects and the installation of renewable energy infrastructure.
But what makes Edison Next Spain so special in the Spanish market? Firstly, its focus on innovation and technology, which allows them to develop customized energy solutions for each client, as well as adapt to market needs and demands. Secondly, its commitment to sustainability and the environment, which translates into an offering of energy services that help reduce the carbon footprint of the business sector.
In this vein, the energy specialist has achieved important milestones and projects. One of them is its collaboration with INLEIT, a leading company in the food sector in Spain, for the launch of an innovative energy project at the new factory built by InLeit in the town of Teixeiro, A Coruña, which has received an investment of nearly 130 million euros to make it one of the most modern plants in Europe.
Edison Next, as a Global Energy Partner, has tackled the complete Energy Center project, which features an energy management system that monitors and centralizes all facility information in real time and identifies any drastic changes in performance data, thereby streamlining support services, detecting any anomalies, and intervening quickly and preventively to ensure the supply, in quantity and quality, of energy vectors.
Another success story for Edison Next in the field of energy efficiency is its collaboration with the company Pascual, a leader in the food sector in Spain, to improve the energy efficiency of its plant in Aranda de Duero (Burgos). With this project, over the last five years, the key performance indicators (KPIs) of its electrical, thermal, and water vectors have been improved by up to 35%, following a total investment of 1.8 million euros, a figure widely offset by the energy consumption savings achieved during this time.
At the Gurb (Barcelona) plant, both companies have launched a new energy management platform that allows real-time analysis of the efficiency of all energy vectors, with permanent monitoring of their main performance indicators and constant monitoring of all facilities, as well as energy-intensive production processes.
Likewise, it has carried out the installation and commissioning of its photovoltaic self-consumption plant with more than 3,000 photovoltaic panels on the roof, each with a power of 455 Wp, totaling an installed capacity of 1,409.59 kWp.
Edison Next’s presence in Spain has been key to the development of the energy sector in our country, promoting the adoption of more sustainable technologies and contributing to job creation and boosting the local economy.
On the occasion of its anniversary in Spain, Edison Next looks to the future with optimism and ambitious plans. The company aims to continue leading the energy transition in our country and offer increasingly efficient, sustainable, and innovative energy solutions to help companies in their energy transition.
