The cities of Bilbao and Calviá once again trust Edison Next for the maintenance of their street lighting.

Edison Next Spain, in its commitment to energy efficiency, has been the energy company selected together with Emartín Facilities by the Bilbao City Council for the maintenance and conservation of the city’s public lighting installations. The contract, which was renewed last March, will last for one year. This extension of the contract reinforces Bilbao’s commitment to sustainability, as it represents a substantial improvement in public lighting, which has more than 43,762 light points. The amount of the extension includes the maintenance and conservation of the installations through exhaustive monthly inspections at the different light points, with the aim of minimizing potential problems in the installations. In addition, the contract award includes the renovation and replacement of necessary lighting elements to ensure proper service provision. Thus, the total economic amount for lighting maintenance has been 3,544,000 euros, plus 2,200,000 euros for the necessary renovations. Likewise, the municipality of Calvià, the second largest municipality by population in the Balearic Islands, has selected Edison Next Spain for a second extension of the public lighting and traffic light maintenance contract. With the renewal of this project, which extends until August 19, 2024, the energy company will be responsible for the maintenance of 14,341 light points with an annual investment of 366,000 euros. Both projects consolidate the territories’ commitment to promoting efficiency and maximum energy savings, in addition to continuing their commitment to being benchmark territories in terms of sustainability and lighting modernization.
