Edison Next installs new sustainable Christmas lighting in a dozen Spanish municipalities.
Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, has been chosen by 13 Spanish municipalities to handle the installation and commissioning of a sustainable Christmas lighting system.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to maintaining a tradition that undoubtedly brings a unique charm to our streets and homes during these festivities, but which for years has involved significant consumption that challenged energy efficiency. Therefore, to preserve this tradition while making more responsible use of energy resources, the 13 municipalities have decided to trust in the energy solutions of the company Edison Next.
The company has already installed a total of 8,205 decorative motifs distributed across the different municipalities, in addition to 3 trees 12 meters high and 6 large light figures. The implementation of cutting-edge technology, such as LED lighting, has been essential to ensure maximum efficiency and reduced energy consumption in this Christmas lighting. The deployment of these projects has required a total investment exceeding 2,084,000 euros, demonstrating Edison Next’s financial commitment to this sustainable initiative.
A clear example of this commitment is materialized in the ambitious installation of 5,300 efficient Christmas motifs in the city of Palma de Mallorca. This large project, whose inauguration took place a few days ago, involves an investment of more than 1.5 million euros and promises to be much more than simple decoration; it will be a gift and a spectacle of light and color for the senses of residents and visitors, while also significantly contributing to the city’s economic and energy savings.
The city of Terrassa has joined this sustainable vision of the festivities by installing 900 Christmas motifs. At the same time, the commitment to sustainability has extended to the Catalan municipality of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, where Edison Next has been entrusted with the task of installing 356 motifs, in addition to 2 imposing Christmas trees over 12 meters tall and a large light figure.
This shared vision of energy efficiency not only adds festive charm to these municipalities but also sets a new standard for more responsible Christmas celebrations. This initiative, in addition to those in La Palma, Terrassa, and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, has sparked the interest of 10 other municipalities that have enthusiastically joined this movement for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly Christmas.
