Edison Next expands the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Ibiza
At Edison Next, we continue working to facilitate the transition towards a greener and more sustainable future in Spain. That is why we remain committed to promoting sustainable mobility throughout the country, and we want this commitment to become one of our main priorities in the coming years.
To achieve this, we work closely with local authorities, communities, businesses, and citizens to develop innovative and affordable solutions that promote emission reductions. Our vision is to help create a sustainable mobility ecosystem that benefits everyone, improving air quality, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and fostering a healthier, more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
In this context, our company has been awarded a new tender in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu, one of the towns on the island of Ibiza. The purpose of this award is to install various charging points for electric and hybrid vehicles distributed across the town’s parishes. Through this project, the city council aims to make the Balearic municipality more modern, attractive, and sustainable.
At Edison, we will have 42 days to install all the charging points; however, once the installation is complete, we will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of the chargers. Thanks to our experience in initiatives like this, we have managed to reduce the project’s base budget from 179,933 euros to 151,670 euros, achieving a 16% savings for the city council and the citizens of Santa Eulària des Riu.
The installation of these charging points will not only facilitate the transition towards cleaner and more efficient mobility but will also promote a more modern and attractive urban environment. Furthermore, by reducing the budget required for this project, we are helping to maximize its value, ensuring that the investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure is as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
This is just one more step in our ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable mobility in Spain. If we want to meet the ambitious new National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, which has set the goal of reaching 5,450,000 electric vehicles in our country by 2030, it is necessary for all of us to support initiatives like this.
At Edison Next, we are committed to continuing to lead initiatives that drive the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as the expansion of the charging infrastructure needed to support this transition. We are convinced that together we can achieve and exceed the established goals, creating a cleaner, more sustainable, and prosperous future for all.
