Edison Next reinforces its commitment to sustainable mobility thanks to the MOVES III program.

Edison Next has been selected to receive significant support under the MOVES III Program. This initiative represents another important step in our commitment to promoting electric mobility and sustainability in our country. The MOVES III program, established by Royal Decree 266/2021 and backed by the European Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, is an initiative of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to encourage electric mobility in Spain. With an initial budget of 400 million euros, later expanded to 1.2 billion, this program’s main objective is to promote the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of accessible charging infrastructure. The 8 electric vehicles we will acquire with the help of this program will be integrated into Edison Next’s operations, playing a fundamental role in our sustainable mobility strategy. This initiative not only aims to strengthen our fleet with more environmentally friendly vehicles, but also represents an active commitment to promoting electric mobility. By using these vehicles in our daily activities, we aspire to be pioneers in the adoption of clean technologies and to set an inspiring example for our industry. We firmly believe that leading by example is essential to drive change towards a more sustainable future, and we are committed to continuing to be a benchmark in this regard. This initiative aligns perfectly with the push Edison Next is giving to sustainable mobility. Indeed, at a time when the demand for electric vehicles is constantly growing, the urgency of having a robust and accessible network of charging points, allowing us to achieve the ambitious electrification targets for transport in Spain, is evident. Therefore, leveraging our strong market position and our technical, financial, and commercial capabilities, we are handling the investment, ownership, and management of public and private charging points throughout Spain. Thanks to our work, we expect that by 2030, Spain will reach the 340,000 public access charging points and 30,000,000 in private spaces that are expected to be necessary to supply the entire fleet of electric and hybrid vehicles in our country.
