Edison Next leads the dialogue on the decarbonization of Catalan industry.

This week, Iñigo Bertrand, CEO of Edison Next Spain, attended the conference “Keys to the decarbonization of Catalan Industry” organized by Foment del Treball Nacional, the main employers’ association in Catalonia. The event, held on June 11 in Barcelona, provided an opportunity to deepen the dialogue on the importance of decarbonizing the Catalan industrial fabric. Iñigo Bertrand’s presence at this important event not only demonstrates Edison Next’s leadership in the transition towards sustainability but also reinforces our active collaboration with key players in the business and government sectors in Catalonia. Our CEO had the opportunity to share Edison Next’s vision and experience in the transition towards decarbonization, as well as to debate with other industry experts how Catalan companies can improve their contribution to boosting competitiveness and sustainability. The presentation of the conference, led by a representative of Foment del Treball Nacional, set the tone for the discussions that followed. In turn, the subsequent opening, conducted by Josefa Beltrán Bertomeu, Deputy Government Delegate, provided additional context on the challenges and opportunities facing Catalan industry on its path towards decarbonization.

After the opening, the only individual presentation of the conference took place. The presentation by our CEO, Iñigo Bertrand, on energy savings and the journey towards decarbonization was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated moments of the event. In it, Iñigo had the opportunity to share our value proposition and concrete examples of how Edison Next is leading this transformation. Iñigo Bertrand particularly highlighted the holistic and personalized approach we offer our clients by providing them with energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions. Indeed, identifying opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint, ranging from energy efficiency or the management of Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) to the development of renewable energy or circular economy projects, provides our clients with a clear and effective roadmap to become more sustainable and improve their competitiveness. Edison Next’s recent successes are a tangible testament to our effectiveness in implementing decarbonization solutions. For example, our collaboration with the dairy company Pascual has allowed them to lead the race towards decarbonization in the dairy sector thanks to ambitious projects that will enable the company to achieve net-zero emissions at its plants by 2026.

After Iñigo Bertrand’s presentation, the round table “Decarbonization as an opportunity for competitiveness,” in which our CEO also actively participated, provided an excellent space for the exchange of ideas and experiences among industry experts. Finally, the networking breakfast offered all attendees the perfect opportunity to continue conversations, establish contacts, and explore potential future collaborations.
