In a context where sustainability and energy efficiency are increasingly prioritized, Edison Next has collaborated with BBVA on a series of conferences aimed at promoting responsible energy practices in the business sector. These meetings, organized in various cities such as Castellón, Córdoba, and Badajoz, have brought together entrepreneurs, experts, and representatives from different entities to discuss the challenges and opportunities of transitioning towards more sustainable models. The sessions have addressed the impact of the 2022 energy crisis, which accelerated the need for measures that not only reduce energy consumption but also strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of companies in an increasingly complex economic environment. As part of these conferences, Jon Macías, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer of Edison Next Spain, shared his experience and vision on the challenges facing the business landscape in terms of sustainability. During his presentations, Macías highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach to reducing energy impact, starting by establishing a roadmap that allows companies to measure and optimize their energy consumption. One of the topics that generated the most interest was the system of Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs). Macías explained how this tool, promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition, is enabling companies to monetize the energy savings resulting from their efficiency investments. Edison Next, as a Delegate Entity in this initiative, is facilitating and democratizing the management of CAEs, supporting its clients in implementing sustainable solutions.
