EDF Fenice inaugurates its Energy Efficiency Control Center in Spain.
Improve the performance of industrial assets with continuous monitoring of their energy vectors
Record and monitor over 5,000 signals from industrial equipment in real time
EDF Fenice, a specialist in Energy Efficiency and Photovoltaic Self-Consumption solutions for the industrial sector, has launched its Energy Efficiency Control Center, EnergyHub. The facility, already operational, aims to enhance the performance of its clients’ production plant energy assets. From EDF Fenice’s new offices in Madrid, its specialist energy efficiency engineers and technical support staff carry out permanent, real-time monitoring of all energy vectors in their clients’ factories, which have already improved their energy efficiency, reduced costs, and minimized the environmental impact of their activity. EnergyHub visualizes machinery consumption and performs multiple monitoring tasks, immediately detecting any anomalies and offering key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational alarms to achieve maximum performance of a factory’s energy vectors. It also enables the execution of predictive tools, as well as remote operation and testing of its technical equipment. All this is made possible by implementing a monitoring system, which is the main source of information, and a management software (CMMS), connected to an extensive database that records all maintenance and operation data for all energy assets. With these tools, over 5,000 signals from industrial equipment are recorded and monitored in real time, with an update frequency of up to 1 second. Similarly, alarms can be set, for example, if any KPI exceeds established reasonable limits. Another advantage to consider is the ability to “translate” any information, both internal and external, from operating data of both new and old systems to meteorological information, for instance. “EnergyHub is the result of the work EDF Fenice has been doing for over 20 years in Spain, with the aim of offering our clients the most complete and advanced service possible. We are already monitoring all their energy assets in real time and reacting immediately to any incident, but now we want to go further and continuously manage their variables and main energy indicators, guaranteeing maximum energy savings and the lowest possible environmental impact,” emphasizes Martha Senra, Digital Director at EDF Fenice. EDF Fenice has been remotely controlling its industrial clients’ assets for over six years, and in 2017, it began developing a monitoring tool for energy facilities, which centralizes the status and operation of production facilities and the evolution of all their energy vectors. The creation of EnergyHub is a new step towards the complete monitoring of all industrial assets. Regarding its next steps, EDF Fenice will continue to increase the number of plants and facilities it monitors from this Control Center, and expand the functionalities and services it provides, with innovative artificial intelligence tools and new advanced energy efficiency management technologies.Contact Us
