Edison Next leads the way towards the era of sustainable urban management at the Greencities forum.
Edison Next participated in Greencities, the leading event in Spain on urban intelligence and sustainability. This year, the event was held on September 24 and 25 at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga, bringing together public and private actors from around the world to discuss innovation in urban management, energy efficiency, and sustainable mobility.
Our participation in Greencities represents a strategic opportunity to demonstrate our advanced energy efficiency solutions, integrated to optimize consumption and sustainability in cities. Edison Next showcased how our smart building management, self-consumption energy, and sustainable mobility technologies contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and creating resilient urban spaces. With these innovations, we aim to offer tangible benefits to urban communities, highlighting the importance of increasingly efficient and responsible resource management.
One of the key moments of the event was the roundtable “Transformation towards decarbonization, resilience, and climate neutrality,” held on September 24 at 10:05 AM. Jon Macías, Chief Commercial Officer of Edison Next Spain, moderated this panel, which included Yessica Rodríguez, Urban Planning Delegate of the Algeciras City Council; María Ávila, Managing Partner of Letter Ingenieros; Rafael Escobar, Commercial Delegate for Andalusia at Eschreder; and Manuel Barrera, Sales Manager at Edison Next. During the session, crucial topics such as energy efficiency in cities and the transition towards sustainable urban management models were addressed.
Greencities provided us with the ideal opportunity to establish strategic alliances with local authorities, technology companies, and government entities, which are essential for the reach and effectiveness of our solutions. Likewise, the event facilitated an exchange of experiences and ideas with other actors, providing valuable feedback that enables continuous improvement of our products and services to better adapt them to current urban needs.
Our proposal to improve the sustainability and efficiency of cities is based on three pillars: advanced building management systems (BMS), self-consumption energy, and sustainable mobility. Edison Next’s BMS systems are a fundamental part of our proposal, optimizing the use of resources in municipal infrastructure through advanced monitoring and control of HVAC, lighting, and other services. This not only ensures optimal energy efficiency but also results in considerable savings in consumption.
Meanwhile, our self-consumption energy proposal allows municipal buildings to generate their own energy, reducing dependence on non-renewable sources and achieving long-term economic savings. These solutions improve the environmental sustainability of cities and promote more efficient use of urban resources.
Sustainable mobility, a complement to our efficiency solutions, contributes to the transition towards cleaner transportation by expanding charging points for electric vehicles, reducing CO₂ emissions, and improving urban air quality.
Edison Next’s participation in the Greencities forum has underscored our commitment to urban sustainability and the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive innovative solutions. Interaction with the various actors who attended the event has enriched our understanding of urban needs and provided us with new perspectives for the continuous improvement of our technologies. As a result, we are better positioned to continue leading initiatives that not only mitigate environmental impact but also improve citizens’ quality of life, promoting a healthier and more efficient urban environment for future generations.
