PackBenefit and Edison Next Spain sign an agreement to optimize water management in Valladolid
PackBenefit, a global leader in the production of sustainable and compostable trays made from cellulose, has signed an agreement with Edison Next Spain, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, to improve hydraulic infrastructure and water management at its factory located in Aldeamayor de San Martín (Valladolid). This five-year agreement represents a significant step in both companies’ commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
Under the agreement, Edison Next will be responsible for adapting and improving PackBenefit’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP). These adaptations will optimize the operation of the water treatment plants, tailoring them to the optimal demand of the factory’s production processes.
Once the improvements are completed, Edison Next Spain will take over the operation and maintenance of both plants for a period of five years. These tasks will be managed by the B2B Operations team of the Mid-North Delegation, under the direction of Alejandro Cabrero, a team of professionals with extensive experience in managing hydraulic infrastructure.
The work will include continuous monitoring and preventive and corrective maintenance of the facilities, ensuring their efficient operation adapted to PackBenefit’s changing production needs. Additionally, advanced monitoring and control systems will be implemented to ensure water quality and resource optimization, thus contributing to the factory’s sustainability and operational efficiency.
In a new effort to consolidate its commitment to the circular economy, Edison Next has decided to increase its commitment to innovative solutions in the efficient management of water resources. This collaboration underscores Edison Next’s dedication to offering the industrial sector responsible solutions that minimize the environmental impact of its activities, aligning with its sustainability and energy efficiency strategies.
This agreement, in addition to initiating a strategic collaboration between Edison Next and PackBenefit, strengthens the energy company’s position in the circular economy and sustainability solutions market. By adding PackBenefit to its client portfolio, it has expanded its reach and reaffirmed its ability to offer innovative solutions for key industries in today’s economy.
“We are delighted to begin this collaboration with PackBenefit, a company that shares our commitment to the circular economy,” says Enrique Basagoiti, Central Sales Manager of Edison Next Spain, “The commitment to cutting-edge technologies and comprehensive water resource management is fundamental for the future of industry.
