Edison Next, working towards building a sustainable energy future.
As a result of the Green Deal objectives, Europe has committed to reducing CO2 emissions by 55% by 2030, with the ambition of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Achieving this goal will not be easy, and close collaboration between companies and public administrations will be one of the keys to success. In this context, Edison Next positions itself as the leading company in energy services and decarbonization for the industrial, public, and tertiary sectors.
Born from the Italian multinational Edison and a subsidiary of the French energy giant EDF, at Edison Next we have taken on the mission of accompanying our clients in their energy transition towards a more efficient and sustainable future. With a 150-year history as leaders in the energy sector, we have been at the forefront of the global energy transition for years. Now, with Edison Next, we aim to be a protagonist in the ecological transition of Spanish companies and cities, highlighting the reduction of the environmental footprint and driving the next era of energy.
Through our new strategic plan, backed by an investment of 2.5 billion euros by 2024, we aim to reach 3,500 employees across Europe. Additionally, we are working towards managing 2,100 public and private structures and overseeing 65 industrial sites, helping them improve their energy efficiency and sustainability. Likewise, by the end of the year, we expect to be present in over 280 cities and municipalities, offering our comprehensive energy solutions to support urban communities in their transition towards a more sustainable and resilient model.
In Spain, we have over 30 years of experience and a highly qualified team of more than 900 people. At Edison Next, we offer energy solutions that cover the entire value chain; from initial consulting to engineering, construction, operation, maintenance, and comprehensive asset management, assuming the full investment of the projects.
With an investment plan of 300 million euros until 2030, so far we have reduced electricity and natural gas consumption by 37,805 tons of CO2 thanks to the implementation of efficiency projects, and avoided 7,567 tons of CO2 thanks to photovoltaic projects. Furthermore, we manage over 1,800 buildings with IoT technology, helping more than 50 cities in their energy transition, and accompany over 40 large industries to optimize their energy efficiency and minimize their carbon footprint.
At Edison Next, we specialize in decarbonization, offering our clients personalized plans that include the latest technology to analyze and reduce their carbon footprint. We divide these solutions into three main areas: energy efficiency, renewable energies, and circular economy. In energy efficiency, we implement technologies such as LED lighting, heat pumps, and energy management systems. In renewable energies, we develop projects for photovoltaic self-consumption, biomass, biogas, biomethane, and hydrogen. And finally, in the
area of circular economy, we focus on efficient water management, waste reduction and valorization, carbon capture and reuse, and bioCO2 production.
Furthermore, after being one of the companies accredited as a Delegate Entity of the Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs) system, we position ourselves as the ideal partner to manage it, both in Spain and Italy. As a Delegate Entity, we leverage our extensive experience and international presence to manage these certificates effectively. CAEs have become a key instrument to promote energy efficiency, certifying and monetizing the sustainability initiatives that our clients implement, resulting in economic benefits and profitability from these sustainable initiatives. Thanks to our experience in implementing and monitoring energy projects, we can guarantee that the certified savings are real and verifiable, providing trust and transparency to all parties involved.
At Edison Next, we distinguish ourselves by our disruptive and proven efficiency model, using advanced technology and digital tools to maximize competitiveness and performance. Our vision is clear: to lead the transition towards a sustainable and efficient energy model. Thanks to our work and our commitment to experience, innovation, and sustainability, we have positioned ourselves as the ideal partner for companies, industries, and public administrations on their journey towards decarbonization.
