Edison Next expands the electric vehicle charging network in Seville.
In an effort to promote sustainable mobility and reduce its carbon footprint, the Provincial Directorate of Social Security in Seville has awarded the energy company Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, the installation of charging points for electric vehicles at various locations in the province.
This project is part of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Plan of the General Treasury of Social Security, which aims to promote energy and economic savings through the implementation of sustainable mobility initiatives and renewable energy in the buildings and infrastructure of public bodies.
Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, will have a three-month execution period to complete the installation of the charging points. Specifically, they will be installed at the Provincial Directorate’s headquarters on Calle Picasso, at the Social Security information offices on Calle Niebla and Avenida de Jerez, and finally at the office in Sanlúcar la Mayor.
The main objective of this project is to facilitate zero-emission mobility and promote the use of electric vehicles among employees and visitors to these sites, thereby contributing to the reduction of polluting emissions and energy savings. The installation of these charging points is part of a broader strategy to transform the energy infrastructure of the General State Administration.
Edison Next has committed to minimizing the environmental impact during the project’s execution, which includes keeping atmospheric emissions under control and ensuring noise levels are as low as possible. The installations will be designed considering the environment to be respectful of it. Additionally, the contract includes a two-year warranty period, covering comprehensive maintenance, both preventive and corrective, of the installations to ensure their maximum efficiency and long-term durability.
With the aim of facilitating the transition towards a greener future, the energy company decided a few months ago to firmly commit to sustainable mobility in Spain,
prioritizing the expansion of the network of charging points for electric vehicles. This approach responds to the accelerated growth of the electric vehicle market and the need to promote more sustainable mobility systems, in line with the environmental and energy goals that Europe and Spain have set for the coming years.
“Initiatives like this are essential to continue advancing the transformation of our country’s mobility model. Collaboration between companies and public institutions is crucial if we want to reduce polluting emissions to create a cleaner and healthier urban environment for citizens. At Edison Next, we are focused on continuing to work closely with public and private institutions that decide to bet on our planet,” says Ángel García Burgos, Head of B2G Agency Manager at Edison Next.
