Edison Next, the company responsible for maintaining the lighting in the southern area of Seville.

Edison Next is the energy company selected by the Seville City Council for the maintenance and modernization of public lighting in the southern area of the city, which includes the Triana Bridge, Plaza del Altozano, Parque de los Príncipes, Avenida Carlos V, Calle Betis, Torre Pelli, and surrounding areas. With a one-year contract, the possibility of four annual extensions, and an annual budget of over 6.8 million euros, this project aims to reduce the energy consumption of its public lighting through energy efficiency, as well as to renovate and modernize its lighting installations. To this end, the energy company is carrying out various maintenance and improvement works in the Southern Zone of Seville, which has 38,670 lighting points. In this regard, Edison Next has been responsible for replacing a total of 5,248 obsolete luminaires with discharge lamps for LED lighting technology. This has made it possible to reduce the installed power from 6,024 KW to 5,598 KW, resulting in an annual savings of 1,788 MWh. Likewise, the energy company has been responsible for installing remote control systems in the control centers to enable studies on consumption and other installation parameters. Currently, 200 of the 600 planned installations have already been put into operation. As an addition to all this improvement and maintenance work, the company also carries out exhaustive monthly inspections of 1,872 lighting points to minimize errors or problems with the installations.
