Commitment to efficiency to reduce the global carbon footprint

The carbon footprint is known as the volume of greenhouse gases produced by humans on a daily basis, in their economic, industrial, and agricultural activities. The volume of carbon dioxide emissions we emit, expressed in tons, is what is discussed in international forums as a reduction target for the coming years. Currently, the Paris Agreement mandates that by 2050, emissions recorded in 1990 be reduced by 90%. According to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), we are talking about going from 334 million tons in 2018 to about 29 million in 2050, a considerable effort by the European Union that sets limits on two levels, individual and collective. The first level has to do with our way of life, our habits. There are countless things we can do without consuming energy, including forms of transportation or communication, but also everyday actions like not using plastics or reducing the use of appliances. Along these lines, there are dozens of small gestures that reduce our environmental impact. Actions such as turning off the light when not needed, checking faucets to avoid leaks, unplugging appliances or electronic devices when not in use, or responsibly regulating heating, represent enormous savings. Other very effective gestures include separating non-reusable waste or understanding recycling habits, always carrying a cloth bag when shopping, or simply walking to run errands. When it comes to moving around, it is also advisable to rely more on the use of 100% sustainable means, such as bicycles or public transportation, which are gradually becoming more eco-friendly, thanks to the efforts of city councils. Just like other national and European institutions that are promoting a determined Green Agenda, with the help of innovative technologies and energy efficiency solutions that generate energy efficiency models for all vectors of a company. Current technologies allow us to make great progress in this purpose, minimize the consumption of people and organizations as much as possible, take decisive steps towards alternative, renewable, and more environmentally friendly energy sources, which improve our environment and contribute to the survival of the planet.
