Edison Next reaffirms its commitment to occupational safety and health.

Safety is one of the pillars that supports the energy industry. This industry is responsible for producing, distributing, and supplying energy to a wide variety of sectors, including homes, businesses, hospitals, industries, and governments. Disruption to any part of the energy system can have serious and far-reaching consequences, including blackouts or interruptions to critical public services, as well as affecting both national security and the economy. Therefore, safety in the energy industry is a key priority and must be addressed through the implementation of appropriate safety measures in all phases of energy production, distribution, and supply, along with staff training based on best safety practices. Today, April 28, the International Labour Organization celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a date that reminds us of the importance of ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all workers, as well as raising awareness about the prevention of workplace accidents and occupational diseases. Last year, moreover, the International Labour Conference (ILC) decided to include “a safe and healthy working environment” in the ILO’s framework of fundamental principles and rights at work. Consequently, all member states have the obligation to respect, promote, and realize the principles concerning the fundamental rights that are the subject of those conventions. In this vein, Edison Next considers the safety of its human team and its clients as cross-cutting strategic levers, and therefore joins this celebration. In the energy environment, occupational safety and health are fundamental aspects that must be cared for and prioritized in all tasks and projects undertaken. For this reason, the company is committed to complying with all workplace safety regulations and standards, as well as promoting a culture of safety and prevention throughout the organization. At this point, Edison Next has a series of specific measures to guarantee the safety and health of the team, in addition to achieving the Zero Accidents objective. Among these, it is worth mentioning training and instruction in safety measures and occupational risk prevention, as well as in the safe use of tools and machinery. Furthermore, employees are provided with the necessary personal protective equipment and tools to carry out their tasks safely and protect themselves from potential occupational hazards. Regular inspections are also conducted to detect possible occupational risks, taking measures to ensure that all working conditions are safe and healthy. In this way, the number of training hours in this area has even increased by 30% compared to the previous year, covering both basic courses and operations in high-risk industrial environments. A culture of safety and prevention is also fostered throughout our organization, encouraging open communication and collaboration to identify potential risks and continuously improve the occupational safety policy. On this World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Edison Next reaffirms its commitment to safety and health, and works continuously to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all. This is a priority for this year, joining the actions established in its strategic plan and those arising from the new challenges of the energy environment.
